Ann Appel

Although a native of Oregon, Ann Appel grew up in Southern California. After attending Fresno State, she completed her masters in Sports Medicine at the University of Oregon. She was the director of sports medicine at Regis University in Denver, before moving to Monterey in May 2003 to take over the family insurance business. Ann is the charter president of Monterey Pacific Rotary which she helped establish in 2005. Over the last 15 years she has served many different positions within the district, such as district conference chair, district grants chair, and Lt. Governor. For the last 7 years she has served as Director of Administration for District 5230. She has been honored twice by her club as Rotarian of the year in 2008 and 2013 as well as the District Rotarian of the Year in 2010. Ann has served as the Registrar for Rotary 26/27 Zone Institute since 2017 and Far West PETS since 2018. Most recently she was presented with The Rotary Foundations highest honor, a Citation for Meritorious Service. Both her and her husband Dennis are multiple PHF, PHS members and recently became Major Donors. He father Gerry Roberts is a past district governor for District 5230 and her mother, Dee Roberts is a past president of the Rotary Club of Thayne in Wyoming where they retired. Dennis and Ann are proud parents of two retired racing greyhounds, Chloe and Roman.
