Giving

Annual SHARE fund donations are encouraged since 50% of the money will come back to District 5230 three years later as District Designated Funds (DDF).  This DDF can be used to pay for District Grants (half) and other global causes (half). For example, in Rotary Year 2019, the District received $143,279.30 in DDF from the Annual SHARE fund.

Polio Plus is the fund dedicated to addressing Rotary’s number one goal:  eradicating the crippling disease of Polio worldwide. Typically, the District will match every dollar contributed by clubs and individuals in our region, and the total Rotary contributions will be matched 2 to 1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. As a result, every dollar you donate will double our contribution towards the Rotary Foundation’s goal of raising $50 million per year and quadruple the amount raised for worldwide polio eradication.  For more information on Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign, visit their website at: endpolionow.org.

Global Grant donations are targeted towards specific projects and can be matched by the District upon request, up to $25,000 per grant.
